چکیده
Abstract Background Citizen responder programmes dispatch volunteer citizens to initiate resuscitation in nearby out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) before the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrival. Little is known about interaction between citizen responders and EMS personnel during attempt. In Capital Region of Denmark, emergency physicians are dispatched all suspected OHCAs. The aim this study was evaluate how perceived collaboration with attempts. Method This cross-sectional conducted through an online questionnaire. It included 65 at Copenhagen June 9 December 13, 2019 (catchment area 1.8 million). questionnaire examined scene OHCA (use after arrival, responders’ skills cardiopulmonary (CPR), challenges setting). Results response rate 87.7% (57/65). Nearly (93.0%) had interacted a least once. Of those 92.5%( n = 49) considered it relevant activate resuscitation, 67.9%( 36) reported as helpful. When arrived EMS, 75.5%( 40) continued use assist CPR or carry equipment. Most (84.9%, 45) stated that necessary perform CPR. Challenges were described by 20.7%( 11) being mistaken for relatives, time-consuming communication, crowding problems resuscitation. Conclusion valuable, not only delivery CPR, but also extra helpful resource providing non-CPR related tasks such directing arrest location, carrying equipment taking care relatives.

The Aassociation between Pre-Cardiac Arrest Comorbidity and Unsuccessful Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in Patients with Cardiac Arrest
Background and Objective: Patients suffering from cardiac arrest (CA) have poor prognosis and survival. The association of pre-arrest comorbidity with unsuccessful resuscitation in patients with CA is far from clear. The aim of the present study was to investigate the association between pre-existing comorbidity and unsuccessful resuscitation following CA in Iranian patients. Materials and Met...
متن کاملMinimally interrupted cardiac resuscitation by emergency medical services for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
CONTEXT Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is a major public health problem. OBJECTIVE To investigate whether the survival of patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest would improve with minimally interrupted cardiac resuscitation (MICR), an alternate emergency medical services (EMS) protocol. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PATIENTS A prospective study of survival-to-hospital discharge between January...
متن کاملEarly cardiopulmonary resuscitation in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
BACKGROUND Three million people in Sweden are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Whether this training increases the frequency of bystander CPR or the survival rate among persons who have out-of-hospital cardiac arrests has been questioned. METHODS We analyzed a total of 30,381 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests witnessed in Sweden from January 1, 1990, through December 31, 2011, to...
متن کاملTermination of resuscitation in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
BACKGROUND We prospectively evaluated a clinical prediction rule to be used by emergency medical technicians (EMTs) trained in the use of an automated external defibrillator for the termination of basic life support resuscitative efforts during out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. The rule recommends termination when there is no return of spontaneous circulation, no shocks are administered, and the ...
متن کاملCardiopulmonary resuscitation duty cycle in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
BACKGROUND Duty cycle is the portion of time spent in compression relative to total time of the compression-decompression cycle. Guidelines recommend a 50% duty cycle based largely on animal investigation. We undertook a descriptive evaluation of duty cycle in human resuscitation, and whether duty cycle correlates with other CPR measures. METHODS We calculated the duty cycle, compression dept...
